EkoLogika, the alliance made up of various civil society organisations, maintained its opposition to the proposed development at Ta' Cenc, adding that it doesn't agree with certain proposals made by Wirt Ghawdex in this regard.

Civil society coalition Eko-Loġika said that it is boycotting MEPA’s invitation for public feedback regarding the Terms of Reference for the EIA in connection with the proposed Golf Course at Xagħra l-Ħamra. Eko-Loġika said that it is taking this step so as not to help legitimize the fact that procedures are not being adhered to by Government with regard to this proposed development.

Civil society coalition Eko-Logika expressed its solidarity with Manikata farmers who are being evicted to make way for a proposed golf course at Xaghra l-Hamra. Eko Logika declared that it will be actively supporting the plight of the farmers.
16.08.05 - Ta' Cenc should be declared a Natura 2000 site
In a press release, the civil society coalition Eko-Logika said that the entire Ta' Cenc area should be declared a Natura 2000 site and join the list of European protected sites.
05.08.05 - Coalition to protect land from golf development
A civil society coalition has been formed to safeguard the environment from unsustainable golf course development. Two separate golf course proposals threaten to swallow up beautiful coastal landscapes at Xagħra l-Ħamra in north-west Malta and at Ta’ Ċenċ, Gozo. Garigue and agricultural land risk being destroyed for development on tracts of land each as large as Sliema.
